Coastal Point Energy LLC (formerly Wind Energy Systems Technology) is a renewable energy company founded to design, construct, and operate wind farms that produce electrical power for the Gulf Coast of the United States. The company’s planned development in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to be one of the first producing offshore wind farms in the United States. When fully operational this installation will deliver 2,100 Megawatts of power generation capacity for this growing area.
Coastal Point has completed all necessary leasing, permitting, engineering, and design work for its first wind turbine located off the coast of Galveston, Texas and is slated to begin full-scale construction and deployment of the project in 2009. The Company has prepared for this rapid deployment in response to the declared national mission of increasing U.S. reliance on renewable wind power.
